Vikings At Texans: Final Injury Reports

USA TODAY Sports

It's Friday, and in addition to getting down on Friday, the NFL teams release their final injury reports for the week. The Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans are no exception, so let's take a look at the reports for this Sunday's contest.

As we generally start with the visitors, let's look at the Vikings injury report first.

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Brian Robison DE Shoulder Questionable
Jared Allen DE Shoulder Probable
Everson Griffen DE Elbow Probable
Matt Kalil OT Illness Probable
Chris Kluwe P Knee/Groin Probable
Phil Loadholt OT Knee Probable
Adrian Peterson RB Abdomen/Groin Probable
Mistral Raymond S Ankle Probable
Marcus Sherels CB Quadriceps/Elbow Probable
Antoine Winfield CB Knee Probable

Obviously, the big one here is Robison, who didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday and was limited on Friday. He has a Grade 3 sprain of the AC joint in his shoulder, the most severe level of sprain. I think it's a long shot that he plays on Sunday, and that Everson Griffen will start in his place if he can't go. Other than that, nothing serious for the Vikings.

Now, on to the list for the Texans, which I'm not sure is standard operating procedure for this team or simply a Belichick-esque attempt to annoy the heck out of people like myself.

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Alan Ball CB Foot Out
Bryan Braman LB Knee Probable
Tyler Clutts FB Abdomen Probable
Shaun Cody DT Back Probable
Jared Crick DE Neck Probable
Owen Daniels TE Hamstring Probable
Tim Dobbins LB Shoulder/Thumb Probable
Justin Forsett RB Knee Probable
Jonathan Joseph CB Groin Probable
Derek Newton OT Knee Probable
Glover Quin S Hip Probable
Brooks Reed LB Groin Probable
Barrett Ruud LB Knee Probable
Darryl Sharpton LB Toe Probable
Wade Smith G Knee/Ribs Probable
Antonio Smith DE Ankle Probable
Ben Tate RB Hamstring/Foot Probable
T.J. Yates QB Elbow Probable

Yes, Texans head coach Gary Kubiak has taken the liberty of listing eighteen players. . .a full one-third of the roster. . .as "probable." I'd analyze it further, but I need a break after typing the list of names. I'm not sure who's likely to miss this one and who's not for the Texans, to be honest.

There you have your final injury reports for the Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans leading up to Sunday afternoon's contest.
