Hooray for HolySchnikes! - USA TODAY Sports
We mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, but I think this is something cool enough to bear repeating.
Back before the season, we started our annual survival pool, and DN member HolySchnikes took the crown in Week 11, besting 99 other Daily Norseman members to do so. But that wasn't enough, as he kept making picks throughout the season. . .and kept doing so successfully.
With the 2012 NFL season having concluded yesterday, I want to let everyone know that HolySchnikes went through the entire regular season of the Survival Pool with an unblemished record. As someone that can't seem to make it out of the first two weeks of one of these things, I think this is a pretty outstanding achievement.
Here is HolySchnikes' path to perfection.
Week 1: Houston Texans over Miami Dolphins
Week 2: Cincinnati Bengals over Cleveland Browns
Week 3: Buffalo Bills over Cleveland Browns
Week 4: Atlanta Falcons over Carolina Panthers
Week 5: Baltimore Ravens over Kansas City Chiefs
Week 6: Tampa Bay Buccaneers over Kansas City Chiefs
Week 7: San Francisco 49ers over Seattle Seahawks
Week 8: New York Giants over Dallas Cowboys
Week 9: Indianapolis Colts over Miami Dolphins
Week 10: Pittsburgh Steelers over Kansas City Chiefs
Week 11: New England Patriots over Indianapolis Colts
Week 12: Denver Broncos over Kansas City Chiefs
Week 13: Dallas Cowboys over Philadelphia Eagles
Week 14: Cleveland Browns over Kansas City Chiefs
Week 15: Miami Dolphins over Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 16: Carolina Panthers over Oakland Raiders
Week 17: Seattle Seahawks over St. Louis Rams
The Chiefs were a pretty easy target, and HolySchnikes took advantage of it, picking against them on five different occasions. He also bet against the Dolphins and Browns multiple times.
The Yahoo! league lists playoffs as well. . .I'm not sure how those work, exactly, but as far as I can tell, the only playoff teams that HolySchnikes didn't attempt to pick in the regular season are the Washington Redskins, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Green Bay Packers. Maybe it resets for the playoffs or something. . .like I said, I don't know for sure.
Congratulations to HolySchnikes on a pretty neat accomplishment.
