Making my case for Joe Webb

I have been supporting Christian Ponder this year, being like everyone else saying ohh give him time, get us some more offensive line help, get us better receivers. I have came to realize that Ponder really isn't who i thought he would be and i think its better that we demote him to a backup quarterback for the rest of the season, give him the off season to try to get his head out of his @ss, then make him win the starting quarterback position back. I don't see why in this league they say oh we wasted a 1st round pick on him lets just give him the job.

Ponder has a lot of problems. His accuracy has dropped, he wont stay in the pocket long enough for his receivers to try and get open and it won't do us any good to get a big named receiver on the outside if we don't have a quarterback that can get it to him. Reading Christian Ponder's college bio i dont see how vikings could have thought he would be a better QB then Andy Dalton or even Collin Kapernick. It reads that Ponder is good with short and intermediate throws but lacks the arm to throw it down field (HELLO WE NEED BIG PLAYS). That throw to Adrian Peterson would have been a touchdown if we had a quarterback that had accuracy on deep throws, instead it was 2 far behind him.

Now on to Joe Webb. Yes, he is still a raw quarterback but i would rather him in there right now then Ponder. Looking over highlights, Webb sticks in the pocket a little bit longer and can actually find open receivers. No Webb isn't the future of the Vikings, and I don't believe Ponder is anymore either. But Webb is explosive and if he can get starting reps in practice, then i can see him surprising people and winning games. Plus Webb is a way bigger threat to run then Ponder is, I'd hate to be the guy trying to run after him. So i'd say stick out with Webb as starter for the last 4 games and give Ponder an actual competition next year.

What do you all think? *We can't get much worse then we already are*
