It's a trade!

I'm gonna start out by saying that i'm still in favour of riding things out with Ponder for the rest of the season, and IF he can show glimpses of NFL cabilber QB play I'd be happy to see him as the starter next season with additional weapons at his disposal. Even a league average WR would be a huge upgrade at this moment in time.

And to all of you who are through with Ponder, I understand your concerns. But maybe look at it this way - If Ponder stinks it up in 2013, then we will definitely be in a position to get a top QB in the 2014 draft, right?

Anways, to get to my stated topic....

By the sounds of it, the Chargers will be blowing up the Front Office in San Diego at the end of the season and it also sounds like they could be ready to cut their losses with Philip Rivers.

That got me thinking about a Purple River.... What if we were to trade our 2nd and a 4th round pick for Rivers? SD could use that pick to move up and take someone like Barkley and start over with a new HC, QB etc, etc....

Now I know Rivers has been pretty poor lately, but how do you think he would play having AP in the backfield? I personally think he would kill it on all the play action he would see. Rivers has struggled carrying his offense for 16 games a season, but with an offense with Harvin, AP and Rudolph - can you imagine?!

Then we could have Ponder as a back-up and either take over if Rivers starts to wear down or if he is a success, we could probably get a decent middle round draft pick for Ponder.

Just a wild idea, but cheers for reading guys!
