Report: Rams' General Manager Job Paton's To Lose
A couple of weeks ago, I didn't even know who George Paton was. It took me a Google search to find out that he was the Minnesota Vikings' Director of Player Personnel.
According to reports coming out of St. Louis, however, I won't have to spend a whole lot of time learning much more about him.
Per a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams' have narrowed the search for a new General Manager down to two people, Paton and Atlanta Falcons' director of player personnel Les Snead. That report, filed by Jim Thomas, says that the job is "Paton's to lose." Paton originally interviewed with the Rams on the last day of January, which was late in the process (the Rams' list of interviewees apparently got into double figures), and was so impressive that he was brought back for a second interview on Monday.
Both Paton and Snead are meeting with Rams' owner Stan Kroenke this weekend, and the Rams could announce a new GM by early next week.
So there you have it. . .the Vikings could be losing one of their main personnel guys sometime early next week.

Huh.
Didn’t really know of Paton either. Good luck to him if he gets the Rams gig.

apparently the Vikings promoted him to assistant gm for him to stay w/ the team
when asked by Dan Patrick if his name alluded to not making quick decisions in the pocket, Ponder calmly replied "As crazy as it sounds, my mom's maiden name is actually Superbowlwinner. All one word"
