Vikings and Gophers/TCF/UofM agree to tentative deal

No, not to kill all the golfers......

But an agreement if/when/possibly the VIkings play there during construction of the new dig's.

The agreement consist's of adding 3,000 temporary seat's in the open endzone area. So far, reports do not have a dollar amount attached or whether or not alcohol would be allowed for the Vikings games. I would imagine that would be more between UofM and the state/local gov then the Vikings, though I'm sure the Vikes can add a little more umph to that. With this, it may, and I mean a BIG may, mean there is more to the Vikings agreement with the State and Minneapolis then is being publicly disclosed to get things done. Maybe the Legislature will finally put this behind them for another 30 or 40 years? We can hope right? May the Force be with us!

The key word here is "tentative"

As in “tentative” deal to build a stadium in Arden Hills.

As in “tentative” deal to build a stadium in Blaine.

This TCF-Vikings deal doesn’t mean squat until funding is approved by the city and state, and as the two examples above show that is a big hurdle to overcome.

Of course, all plans to build a stadium in southern California are “tentative”, too, so we have that going for us.

Not as big of a hurdle as you make it seem...

The difference between this deal and the other deals, is that THIS deal has the backing of the legislature.

The others did not. So the chances of this deal holding up are much better than previous deals.

I'm split between both sentiments

While I do hope this has a better chance like you said Bjorno, I still feel like Midnight as in everything has been tentative but seems to blow up at the last second.

Right now, I am crossing my fingers, no way I hold my breath.

Well,

There is no doubt that it could fall apart, but there is no reason to assume that will be the case with this deal, just because the last one failed.

I know

Just the few years of wondering about the Twins, seeing the North Stars go and now the VIkings and all the BS surrounding everything, trying to be optimistic, but there is a bit of pessimistic to go with that.
