Around SBN: Indy 500: 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing' Set For Sunday

About time somebody started mentioning that elimination of the Pro Bowl was an option. There's just nothing in it for the athletes and you get absolute garbage play by all sides. Plus the rules are stupid too.

That'd be awesome

Although, I think 69 would be up in a tree with a paintbrush jumping on every AFC player and taking them down with hand to hand combat…that’s more his style.

Remember, remember the seventh of November.

Or a spear. I’ve seen what he can do with a spear.

What happened to the Skills competion?

Didn’t they have a NFL fastest man competition… what ever happened to that stuff? QB challenge… WR best hands….most weight-lifts…

That stuff was actually fun to watch.

The pro bowl will never be competitive unless it means something…. perhaps it decides who wins the coin toss in the super bowl… idk… suggestions?

Not true, imo

I’m not entirely sure either team would purposely tank. I mean for example, in a hypothetical situation, if the Packers were in the Superbowl and if the NFC won the skill drills they win the cointoss. JA seems to hate the Pack (almost as bad as the fans do) but I would think he would try his damndest to win because it’s a matter of pride. He loves to compete, it’s pretty obvious he lives for it and when he sees Dwight Freeney or Julius Peppers throw up 30 reps on the bench, we can all bet our asses off he will be pushing his all to make it past 30. No matter if it was NFC in the lead or AFC in the lead, all the athletes would be tryin to get the high mark. I would think the individual competitions would make them try harder and make them want to win. Or QB accuracy drills, all of the QBs would be tryin so they could be claimed they “Most Accurate QB”. All of these athletes are driven and extremely competitive.

Also, the option to choose which side they want to defend could come in handy, not just ball to start the second half (especially since soon they will be playing in New York where wind could be a factor with kickoffs).
