According to Profootballtalk, the Vikings interest in John Carlson is about as high as John Carlson's interest with the Vikings:

I guess the rumors we all heard earlier were true. John Carlson is set to meet with the Vikings on Wednesday, as he'll fly to Eden Prairie to meet with the management staff (Brad Childress pick up anybody? Eh? Eh?)

Now of course, a tight end two isn't the most glamorous of moves, but John Carlson is young (27) and has a ton of upside if he's healthy. I still feel that we'll address the linebacker position as well as possibly the offensive line during this free agency period, so adding a second tight end with upside makes sense. I loved watching the guy play in college, and putting him across from his former teammate, Kyle Rudolph, would give Christian Ponder a pair of awesome, big targets at the tight end position.
