Not so long ago that we remember that any time someone played the Oakland Raiders you could count on atleast and additional 100 yards in penalties for your team. Well the rumors several years ago that started this investigation of "Head hunting" by the Saints was only was only compounded by additional allegations of cheating. Earlier this year players from other teams where complaining about whistle blowing, late hits and other ways of cheating to win by the Saints.
Watching the 2009 NFC Chamionship, I was absolutely livid of the officiating, the late hits or allowing the Saints to strip the ball on the stop of forward progress. The bullshit call in OT for pass interference, it seemed that we, the Vikings, were getting the old Seattle Shaft by the officials and the League. You know damn well that the officials got their instructions from some where, conspiracy theory maybe but what are we to think when it was so blatant.
The NFL wanted the feel good story for the league. Sean Payton was the new darling of the NFL, the 'Good Son". Now this investigation only brings to light what we already knew. They lie, cheat and steal a win any way they can, I see that the team isn't that any better than the city, a cesspool of crap. There maybe a few places to visit as long as you wear your flack vest, Murder Capital USA.
The league had a hand in this too and as the investigation unfolds we will never know the whole truth of who all knew. The punishment should be severe and set an example for other coachs and GMs
