By now, I'm sure you've heard about the big quarterback news everyone is talking about today.
Wait, who? Peyton Manning? OK yeah, I guess he's sort of a big deal right now. But I was talking about the other one.
The other one? None other than one-time Viking Sage Rosenfels. According to Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press, both the Vikings and Rosenfels might be interested in rekindling their relationship:
And now, the QB news you've been waiting for...hearing there's mutual interest b/t Vikings and Sage Rosenfels to re-sign.
— Pioneer Press (@VikingsNow) March 7, 2012
You gotta admit, while it might not have as much of an impact as Manning leaving the Colts, this news is much more surprising. With Christian Ponder and Joe Webb seemingly entrenched as the team's two main quarterbacks, this rumor is more than a little puzzling. I've always been a fan of the Rosencopter, and obviously the Vikings have too if this news is true. I couldn't imagine bringing someone as seasoned as Sage (pun intended) to be the third stringer. Perhaps the Viking brass thinks he could push for the starting spot? Maybe they could have another move in mind related to this interest?
Since it's the offseason, let's speculate away. Would bringing Sage back be a good move for the Vikings? Vote in the poll and let us know what you think in the comments.

How would you feel about Sage Rosenfels re-signing with the Vikings?
We already have Ponder and Webb--why do we need him? (263 votes)
He'd be a solid backup--fine by me. (581 votes)
Yes--he can come in and compete for the starting position. Maybe he'll push Ponder and Webb to be better. (299 votes)
