Mike Mayock's top 100

So yesterday I posted a little ditty from our friends over at which stated several reasons why the Vikings MUST draft USC left tackle Matt Kalil with the 3rd overall pick in Thursday's draft. Today, I want to share with my Daily Norsemen bretheren, perhaps an alternative point of view. Mike Mayock doesn't necessarily say the Vikes should take someone other than Kalil at #3, but he does have a few other players ranked ahead of him. And I know that many of you really respect Mike Mayock, so with that in mind, I am curious to hear your thoughts.

With regards to the first round, clearly the Vikings are not in the market for Trent Richardson's services, but DB is clearly a glaring need for the Vikings. If Mayock's board is similar to Spielman's board, then logically Claiborne should be the choice because he is the higher rated prospect.

I also really like Mayock's #6 prospect. I truly think that if the Vikings can trade with Miami for the #8 pick and their 2nd and 4th round picks, Spielman should do it and use #8 on Luke Kuechly.

Apparently I'm not the only one who really likes Casey Hayward. So if other teams have a similar grade on him and the Vikes hope to land this ideal tampa 2 corner, then the Vikings will either have to take him with their #35 pick, or they will have to trade back into the 2nd round to get him.

What are your thoughts on Mayock's big board? Any surprise? If so, who are the biggest surprises on his list?
