$#!T Will Get Real If We Don't Pick Kalil!

Got your attention now? Good! I could very much live with Claibourne as the 3rd overall pick (no Blackmon, he isn't even in the picture imo and this is my post... SOOOO THERE). A month ago if you would have asked me who should we pick, I would have said Claibourne is the pick to make. Join me after the jump to see why my thoughts have changed.

So, about a month ago I started thinking about the pass happy league we are in and then I started thinking, Rogers, Jennings and Megatron, OH MY! I am aware there are more aerial threats in our division but those seemed to fit the saying pretty well. Anywho, I was thinking if we want to compete, we need to have a good secondary and a guy that can somewhat compete with Megatron. I also (and still think this) that Claibourne has the bigger potential and higher ceiling as an individual player and the key there is as an individual. This is where the tide started to turn about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I started looking at it from a team point of view and it really just started making sense that Kalil is better for the team, especially our team in rebuilding with a 2nd year QB who got DESTROYED last year due to poor O-Line play. Think about it this way, what would have a crappy secondary hurt this year? Only thing it hurts is our scoreboard, which I am sure during the season I will be pissed about but in the long hall it isn't as bad as the negatives that could occur from having a terrible O-Line again. That would be devastating to our hopeful QB of the future and to our rebuilding as a whole.

With that said look at Free Agency, look how often good receiver or DB talent comes on the market as apposed to a Franchise LT. With all this in mind I really think Kalil is the way to go tomorrow with the 3rd overall pick. My favorite scenarios would be as follows:

1. Some kind of crazy trade where we get a TON of picks!

2. Kalil

3. Claibourne
