Proving that, once again, this is the biggest and best Minnesota Vikings community going today, we absolutely killed it on draft weekend, and a big part of that is because of all of you out there.
This weekend basically smashed all of our traffic records, as we racked up over 86,000 hits and over 214,000 page views over the course of the three-day NFL Draft period, including an all-time site record of 38,467 hits and 87,675 page views on Saturday alone.
I want to give mad props. . .do the kids still say "mad props?" Anyway, I want to give mad props to Ted and Eric for the killer job that they did at Winter Park, hanging out with the big boys. There weren't any other Vikings fan sites with representation at Winter Park this weekend. Just the ESPNs and Star-Tribunes and the Pioneer Presses of the world. . .and us. The Minnesota Vikings see us as a legitimate media source, and the fact that they gave us two passes to hang out at Winter Park this weekend pretty much solidifies that.
Ted and Eric might have some war stories to share with everyone about their experience, most of which will likely involve Sid Hartman ripping on the other members of the media in some way. Because, hey, he's Sid freaking Hartman. The media center at Winter Park is named for the guy, for crying out loud. Who's going to tell him not to?
But, once again, this site's legitimacy comes from you fine men and women out there who make this site a regular part of your internet experience and one of the places you come to for news and views on our favorite football team. We're approaching our sixth birthday here at The Daily Norseman, and this thing has gotten so big so fast that it's hardly able to be believed. The great part is that it's just going to keep getting better from here.
Thanks again, ladies and gentlemen, for making this weekend a great one, and for making this web site what it is today. I have nothing but gratitude for each and every one of you.
