Apologies for the late start today, folks. . .Mrs. Gonzo and I had an appointment to keep this morning, so I didn't get out of the starting blocks as early as I would have liked.

In the last pick of our community mock draft, you folks selected Stanford guard David DeCastro for the Kansas City Chiefs at #11. That brings us to Minnesota West. . .er, the Seattle Seahawks at pick #12. So, what could the Seahawks be looking at in this year's draft? Well, let's take a look at what their needs are.

Defensive End - The Seahawks only managed 33 sacks in 2011, and 11 of those came from defensive end Chris Clemons. The type of system they run puts a premium on edge rushers, so they could use a guy that can bring it from the outside and get to the quarterback.

Linebacker - Their middle linebacker from last year, David Hawthorne, has signed with the New Orleans Saints*. They have a couple of prospects that could possibly move to the middle linebacker spot, but might be better off grabbing one in the draft.

Guard - DeCastro would have been a nice fit here, but he's off the board already. The Seahawks are still attempting to replace Steve Hutchinson. . .no, seriously. . .but they could use someone that can step right in and make an impact.

Cornerback - They let go of Marcus Trufant, and while they have a couple of solid starters in Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman, they could use a guy that they can plug in for nickel situations and, possibly, step in for one of those two players.

So, the Seahawks have some interesting options on the board that sync up with their needs. Who do you think they should grab at #12?
