During the OTA's the Vikings have been having, many standouts have shown, including new WR Jerome Simpson. With the season approaching fast, and training camp even faster, the team has 12 Wide Receivers on the roster, and only 5 or 6 recievers are going to make the roster. Let's see who will make the cut!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Percy Harvin and Jerome Simpson will make the roster. It's also going to be hard to believe that life-long teammates and friends Jarius Wright and Greg Childs do not make the roster, so I'm going to add them into the mix.

Percy Harvin is Percy Harvin, so he stays. Jerome Simpson was a great addition to the Vikings roster and it is a shame that we will not see him catch passes until week 4, because of the three game suspension he recieved today. He has been lighting it up at the OTA's. His circus-like catch over Chris Cook is an example of why us Viking fans will be biting our nails, waiting for him to come back from the suspension.

Greg Childs and Jarius Wright will not be broken up, likely ever in their lifetime. It is going to be hard to imagine them not being together, and if one does not make the roster, the other will not either. Jarius Wright has had very solid OTA's and displayed good hands. His buddy Greg Childs has not practiced with the team because he is nursing a calf injury, but when he comes back, he will come back lighting it up.

That leaves us with four slots filled. Who makes the cut?

One guy I'd love to see make the roster is last year's seventh round draft pick, Stephen Burton. He too, has had a great set of OTA's. Christian Ponder's has favored throwing to him, along with Jerome Simpson, of course. He is 100 times better than he was last year and has a huge chance of making the roster.

One spot left huh?

It could be Michael Jenkins, a returning veteran, who will likely be the one, or it could be Kerry Taylor, who also has had a solid set of OTA's, opening up the eyes of the Viking's WR coach. Another guy I really like is Devin Aromashodu. He also has a one-handed catch at the OTA's.

My prediction of who makes the roster:

Stephen Burton*

*IMO, Stephen Burton and Michael Jenkins will be competing for the last spot.

It is going to be extremely hard for Leslie Frazier to pick the final 5 or 6 because of all this depth that the Vikings now have. Even with Jerome Simpson suspended the first three games, the Vikings have a lot of depth to win those games.
