Roster Addition

The sudden retirement of three year CB Asher Allen left an opening on the roster for another defensive back. As reported by Tom Pelissero, the Vikings have signed DB Corey Gatewood. He was apparently converted to wide receiver but played in and started six games at CB for Stanford in 2009. His pro day numbers are as follows: 5'11", 188 lbs. ran a 4.44 40, and recorded a 40" vertical.

The link to Pelissero's article states that Gatewood was converted to wideout at his request. He only recorded 2 catches for 27 yards in his college career. Honestly I'm not really sure what type of player the Vikings have here. One tends to believe this is an obvious downgrade from Asher Allen and I would be surprised if he made the team.
