The 2012 draft went pretty well for the Vikings and gives us fans some optimism for a much improved 2012 season. But I am still kinda sifting through draft mode. I know what you're thinking, what crazy individual thinks of such a thing, especially since the 2012 draftees haven't even proven their mettle yet, not to mention the 2013 candidates with an unaccounted season yet to be seen to determine their worth. Well, enter me, sleep deprived, belly full of dark coffee, being quickly followed by a Red Stripe or two. Yes, there is just one individual that has me super excited for the Vikes to draft and I believe he will be legen... (wait for it)
...dary!!! That individual would be none other than Tyrann Mathieu, "The Honey Badger." I realize his value is placed as second best cornerback, behind David Amerson but I still think he poses more all around quality than just an interception machine such as Amerson. When he blitzes, he is tenacious, coupled with tremendous coverage skills and his ability to strip the ball out! This of course all depends on how the 2012 season rolls out for both cornerbacks, but I predict Mathieu will be worth the pick for the Vikes.
I know the Vikes picked up super-fast Josh Robinson in the 3rd round plus safety Harrison Smith in the 1st but with Winfield getting up there in age and based on our past secondary woes, can we really have enough? I mean, check out Mathieu's highlights:

Assuming most of the 2012 draft picks pan out, defensive tackle, middle linebacker and possibly wide reciever are all possible first round candidates for 2013 but I still feel our secondary deserves to be elite or something close to it to make up for the garbage trail up to this point.
Let me know what you think is in store for our favorite NFL team in 2013.
