Last year the Vikings lined the rookies all up and signed them all up. Maybe it isn't a big deal, but to me it just looks bad, tough negotiator and all I get, just get the deal done. Offset language in case the kid is a bust, man we shouldn't have drafted him if that is a serious problem. The player above Kalil and three below him didn't put the language in their deals.
It is a time to be upbeat and excited. Sure it is a bad deal for a team that makes a bad choice, its all part of the process (right JaMarcus). The numbers are substantially lower than they were before the new CBA, not without risk, but manageable. You'll have deals that don't work out (BB) and you just cut bait and move on.
Maybe the business side doesn't belong on here as we don't know what is going on, but the brighter ones can read between the lines. I'd like our newest, bestest player to be focused on playing, not offset language.
I don't think Robinson is signed either. Lets get this done front office, if its a stare down, we don't need that this year. We signed many one year deals which is going to make next year a big year for this team. This is the Redemption Season and we'll be paying the guys that pull the team in the right direction.
