Vikings Defense

Stay connected for news and updates

I am frustrated with the lack of respect the Vikings Defense got after last weeks victory. The Defense shut down the back (MJD) that some consider the best in the game. Obviously to shut down runningbacks like MJD and Jennings it is going to take a lot of effort and it is to be expected that you are going to have to give up some passing plays because of it. I feel like the front 7 of the Vikings is much improved and back to our old ways of competing and winning at the line of scrimmage. Also nobody has mentioned how the 5th pick of this year's draft and 2 time best receiver in college football award winner was basically non-existant. There is no doubt that our secondary is better! I was excited to see no blown coverages...Yes we got beat a few times but last year we averaged several BLOWN coverages a game. If we can stay healthy our defense should at least be ranked in the top half off the league at the end of the year (a far cry from a year ago)!

There is definitely improvements that will need to happen such as getting off the field on 3rd downs, pressure on the quarterback and some turnovers created! I feel this defense will continue to gel as the season goes on. Lots of new faces as starters. I think the game this weekend is going to show us a lot about our team.

I am extremely excited about the potential this team is showing and can not believe how much improvement has come in a years time. I look for the Vikings to beat the Colts 27-20 but am hoping for a blowout! Skol Vikes!
