The first three weeks of college football are in the books.
First my Trojans got worked by Stanford a little. I think it really came down to Kiffin getting out-coached. Missing Khaled Holmes (their starting center) who is considered a second round pick really hurt in this game. Barkley was under a lot of pressure and did not handle it that well. His mobility is lacking to say the least. Why they could not figure out how to get the ball to Robert Woods is a mystery?
Arkansas was spanked by Alabama. Either they are really bad or Alabama is really good. Notre Dame was impressive in their victory over Michigan State. Manti Te'o is the real deal. Virginia Tech stunk it up vs Pittsburgh and lost but Marcus Davis looked good to me. Ohio State had a scare vs California but held on. The rest of the top 25 games were blowouts due to the poor (er ... awesome) scheduling.
I am still torn between Robert Woods and Star Lotulelei. I am leaning heavily for that defensive lineman though. When you see a team like Green Bay add Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, and Randall Cobb in the second round then you can see that getting a WR in the first round is not absolutely necessary. It is nice but not required IMHO. I lean toward the beasts myself.
I am listing some performances of some of the top players below. I might not have them all here so feel free to add a player who you think did really well and may have vaulted themselves up the draft boards.

Which games will you be watching and which players do you think would be great Vikings?
Here is my weekly mock and I am moving the Vikings into the 7th position. I think 5-11 is the mark after this past week. Of course if they beat San Francisco this week then I can see a big jump next week in my projected wins (like 8 or 9).

I wanted to change up a little in this mock. I think getting the top ILB in the draft could help the defense out immensely. I imagine the team will resign Erin H. The LB starter would be fairly solid with Te'o, Erin H, and Greenway. Perhaps they keep Brinkley as a backup? They still will have Cole, Dean, Mitchell, and McKenzie too.
I like Mathieu. If he is there at #39 they would be foolish to pass him up. He brings all kind of talent to the defensive back group. Winfield is just about done. Maybe he plays one more year in 2013 but that would be it for me. We have to hope that Cook and Robinson blossom into solid starters. Then we have AJ Jefferson, Brandon Burton, and Marcus Sherels. I could see Mathieu playing in the slot and playing it very well. Plus he can return punts well.
I think adding two big and very fast WRs is going to be necessary. Jenkins and Aromatherapy are probably going to be gone next year. We have to hope they resign Simpson which would give them a decent group that is young. I think Childs is going to work very hard to get back but it probably will take two years to recover fully. I would not be surprised if he goes on IR next year too.
In the fourth and sixth I finally add some DTs which is a HUGE departure from my mantra about the defensive line. But I do not believe this front office values defensive tackles that much. They do not pick them early and are willing to roll with players who really are rotational type backups at best and/or undersized. I am not sure they want to use a high draft pick on a defensive tackle.
You always want to add more young talent to the offensive line. I think it is evident that Charlie Johnson may not be that much better at guard than he was at tackle. But I like him as a utility backup. Pocic can play center and guard which increases his value. You need position flexibility. Mark Jackson can probably play guard too.
I think they have to keep adding talented safeties (not corner conversions) every draft as well. Sooner or later we will hit on a late round safety pick. Raymond could be that guy. But even if he is we need depth. Sendejo will have to fight for his job once again.
I left the UDFAs as is because they seem to fit.
I hope that you can watch your team(s) and provide some feedback on players you think that can make it in the NFL
