I'm not sure why I haven't seen anything about this before now. . .probably because I'm a bit more geographically separated than I've even been used to. . .but this is kind of important.
The Minnesota Vikings' 2013 Winter Blast snowmobile rally is right around the corner. It will take place on February 9 and 10 on Lake Mille Lacs. I'm putting this up here now because registration ends on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, at midnight Central time. So, if you want to get in on the festivities, you're going to have to act quickly.
The registration cost is $25 per person (or $35 if you register on the day of the event), and you will have to choose one of four starting points: The Blue Goose Inn, Castaway's Bar and Restaurant, Nitti's Hunter Point, or Buzzies On The Bay. Don't have your own snowmobile? No problem! When you register, you'll have full use of the free shuttles provided by the Mille Lacs Drift Zippers and the Mille Lacs Trails Snowmobile Club that will take you around to all the Blast Points. In addition, your $25 ticket will make you eligible for drawings for over $30,000 in prizes.
All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Vikings Childrens Fund. They raised $70,000 last year, and want to try to push that number to over $100,000 this year.
If you want to view the full brochure, you can see it right here.
So, if you're a snowmobile enthusiast and a fan of the Minnesota Vikings, sign up for a good cause, and maybe even get a little something for yourself in the process. If you go and get any pictures, feel free to share them with everyone here as well.
