The backup quarterback spot is not a fill in. Smart teams have veteran backup quarterbacks that can throw the ball when they are called upon to do so. I am a big fan of Spielman, but you gotta have a real quarterback for these situations. Also, I am back on board with Ponder after what he showed the past 4 weeks, but does anyone think that Brett Favre would have sat out of this game tonight? I don't.
