Thanks to the Vikings and their fans from the UK

(I posted this in another thread already, but I wanted to make sure the message wasn't missed...)

We UK-based Vikings fans want to say thank you for letting us have a home game here in London. We know it was a sacrifice for those of you with season tickets, and we’re grateful. We know you’re going to have very mixed feelings about the whole thing. We know it must stick in your craw that the first win of 2013 wasn’t even in the USA. We get that.

As a Vikings fan since 1967, I was thrilled to be there, to soak it all in, to watch a great game, and to see the support we gave the Vikings, who aren’t the most followed team over here. It’s amazing to watch fans in other jerseys, even the Packers, Bears and Lions fans, rooting for the Vikings because they were the home side. We hope the team and you back in Minnesota appreciated the way we got behind the Vikings. I’m sure new Vikings fans were born last night from watching their first game.

To those of you who made the trip, I really hope you had a great time in London, thanks for coming, hope to see you again.

What a great day we all had, in a great atmosphere and with the best result. Thanks to you all for that. :)

(Only disappointment – the cheerleaders came out after halftime with long-sleeved full tops… you ladies are from Minnesota, right? The land of the ice and snow? It was about 58 degrees in the second half with no wind, you didn’t need to cover up! Yes, that’s right, I’m talking to you, the red-headed minx, err, I mean, all of you! How am I supposed to remain a middle-aged, staring, drooling imbecile if you cover up?)

SKOL VIKINGS!

PS: I taught everyone in my block at Wembley the words to our song and had them singing along by the end of the first quarter!
