So, throughout the game I'm sure most of us fans noticed that large amounts of holding throughout the game by the Steelers. Sure the Vikings may have had penalties that didn't get called, but that's not the purpose of this post. The purpose is to point all the lack of holding calls against the steelers.
I went back and re-watched the game on my DVR, this is my unofficial numbers for missed calls.
1 failed call on holding against both Griffen and Henderson.
2 failed holding calls against Jared Allen
and here is the kicker, 6 missed holding calls against Robision. Robison flat out schooled the right tackle with the speed rush on nearly every 5 step drop of Big Ben. The thing is that Steelers tackle just held him all game long.
Add this to the at least two blocks in the back on one of the screen passes, and this game could've been drastically different.
This is not an excuse for the rest of the team. Josh Robinson was awful in coverage, better in tackling, but still terrible in coverage. The defense still gave up way too many points. Anyway, maybe next game we will get some of those holding calls called and stop a drive or two, maybe we can bring down the points per game a little, put less pressure on the offense to score.
