Well unfortunately we all witnesses another example of what I have been saying for years; the coaching staff is allowed to continue to set this franchise back further. This roster is much more talented than the sh*t we see left out on the field week after week. I said it before & I'll say it again, this team has only won over the past couple of years in spite of the the coaching, not because of it.
When I said last season that Musgrave needed to be fired & an at least decent offensive coordinator brought in at season's end, most of the responses I would get were insults & praises of how great the running plays he called were. I could not believe the that people thought I was an idiot to even question our coaching staff & that I wasn't a true fan. Now, I am actually glad to see that most have opened their eyes to the depressing obvious. As bad as this is, it is a good thing because in order for things to get better, all the ones that that wanted to cling to the false realities of what was really going on(which unfortunately was the majority) had to be the ones to concede that they were way off and completely wrong on the opinions of the Minnesota Vikings. When the majority of the people were still supporting Frazier, Williams, Musgrave, ect.; their jobs were essentially safe. As players, mainly Adrian Peterson, masked the deficiencies and backward philosophies, refusing to learn from mistakes & repeatedly taking the same failing approach coaching staff; these coaches had actually been rewarded for poor performances that have set the franchise back. I have been literally voicing my opinion of an entire new coaching staff to be brought in to replace this dumpster fire for years. Though, finally the majority is waking up and conceding to what the minority of us he been saying for a long time, and that extra kick in the butt out the door and replacing of this coaching staff that has hindered the players for far too long is exactly what needs to be voiced by the fans to let the owner know we expect more from from this team as a whole, especially the coaching staff. I'm sure all of them are all good guys, but just because some guy that is a complete idiot with shaky hands is a nice guy does not mean that he should remain as a heart surgeon after his last dozen patients have died on the operating table. And these coaches have killed our Minnesota Vikings. Maybe Frazier actually hired such bad coordinators so that when he needed to be fired that that Wilf wouldn't do it especially during the season where an intermediate coach would have to step in which 99.999% of the time comes from within the coaching staff. I doubt it, and was a bad thing to say about Frazier, as it was just another mistake, but that is just how bad Williams and especially Musgrave are.
I personally would love for Jon Gruden to be hired as the head coach at the end of the season and let him of course hire his personnel. The only favors the coaching staff have done is to provide a blueprint of what not to do, while also ensuring we draft very high. With our high draft pick; we will hopefully, finally, draft out qbotf. Because regardless of what Freeman, or even Cassel, or Ponder do the rest of the year; they are all back up caliber QBs; they are exactly what they have been the entire time they have all been in the league. There will be no magically turning into a top tier QB; we hope it happens, but we all need to be very logical come the next draft because the QB that we need to lead us to an eventual Superbowl is not yet on this roster.
I root for us to win every game no matter what. I also root for us to improve, and that is exactly what this franchise must do. The debacle that is our coaching staff must be replaced in order for the right decisions to be made. Whether that is putting the better player on the field, calling the right plays, preparing the team properly that favors their strengths and targets the opponents weaknesses, this 'we don't play rookies' moronic perspective, ect., ect., ect. This should have already been done this past off season with at least a couple replacements, but was not and Frazier has done nothing but prove himself to be a liability no matter how nice he is.
This team actually has some very talented players all over it's roster, but are not being properly utilized. The coaches, and whoever else can keep trying to blame the players by saying they are not executing properly, but the obvious that has been going on for far too long cannot be ignored anymore even by the most stubborn of people.
I think the proof of how bad the coaching staff has been will revealed by how quickly this team will be turned around and by the reality that none of the other 31 teams will hire any of these failures who insisted upon approaching every single game without change even though it was proven that their philosophies are flawed, unsuccessful, out of touch, and simply do not work & doing the same thing over and over and expecting it to somehow eventually work is just not rational, much less sane. I wish everyone the best with rest of their careers, but wish the Minnesota Vikings even better moving forward, as the players and fans deserve better than what these coaches have done to this franchise. I also think many of the players should be praised for their professionalism, as they would conform to the coaches' plans even though it was obvious the majority of the players seemingly knew/know they are being mismanaged and have never once criticized the coaches publicly even though it is their careers that are being wasted because of the coaches ignorance.
