Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 10/25

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

It's Friday, boys and girls, and you've made it to the end of another work week. Anyone watch the Thursday night game? Did anyone contract MRSA by doing so? And no, I'm not linking any videos or pictures of people who contracted MRSA, and what it can do to the human body. Nope. BUT IF I WERE, said links would be really, really gross and graphic. And if you have a delicate constitution or are in a workplace full of people busybodies that like to fill out complaints against you, you might not want to open the links that I SO DID NOT PROVIDE.

Since we last brought you an open thread...

Well, the competitive phase of the Vikings season is over, so we might as well start getting smart on college players for the draft. We're not going to get as smart as Mark, but we'll be less stupid than we are now.

Eric told us that not all the news is bad. Well, on the field it is. But we got some good news where the stadium is concerned.

Eric also gave us his weekend picks, and rubbed it in about being selected to be an ultimate fan for Sunday night. And rubbed it in about something else. Can't remember what, though.

From elsewhere around the web:

After word got out that the Rams allegedly contacted Brett Favre about coming out of retirement and playing again, DE Jared Allen had some sage advice.

Adrian Peterson has a bad hamstring, but he says that won't hinder him against the Packers Sunday night. That's the job of the offensive line, naturally.

Finally, former Vikings QB great and NFL Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton gives us his opinion of the Vikings quarterback position. Heh heh heh...

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, kids. . .no politics, unless you want to tell Marty to suck it. No religion, no feeding of the trolls, except SkollTroll, who likes peanuts. What? He has a peanut allergy? Okay, UNSALTED peanuts. And although this is exceedingly difficult when talking about our beloved Vikings so far this season, let's keep the bad language to a minimum or at least use the spoiler tags if you feel as though you absolutely must curse.

To close out the week, I've given what many people think is the greatest improvisational scene in comedy history. Why choose this? Well, it's funny, for one. And number two, it's almost as funny as the comedic improvisation we have going on with our favorite team's quarterback debacle.

Enjoy the weekend, kids. IT'S IN THE HOLE!!
