The big question right now for the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft is who is the better QB: Marcus Mariota (Oregon) or Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville)?
In today's NFL I believe that teams look for players that fit into their system, which in turn gives the player the best chance to succeed in the pros. The Vikings obviously do not have a system and it will be dealt with this offseason. I hope we get a head coach that will stick around for 15 years or so and get something accomplished. And it all starts with drafting the right franchise QB.
If our new coaching staff wants a QB who can run the read-option then Mariota is the obvious pick. But if they want a prototypical QB then Bridgewater is our guy. I think the read-option will eventually fade out just like the wildcat did. The prototypical QB will never go out of style. And if this is the case, Bridgewater should be our guy. But it would also be pretty neat to see a Mariota-Peterson tandem for a few years.
