A (Second) Brief Look At Vikings/Packers History

Hannah Foslien

Yes, this post is going to bear a great deal of similarity to the one that we did for the first meeting between these two teams. The difference is that a couple of the tidbits have changed to reflect the game being played in Green Bay as opposed to being played at the Metrodome.

As always, the statistics presented below are brought to you by the folks from Pro Football Reference. And remember, this is regular season games only.

Total Games Between the Vikings and the Packers: 104

All-Time Record: Packers, 55-48-1

Total Vikings Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 2,018 (19.4/game)

Total Packers Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 2,262 (21.8/game)

Longest Vikings Winning Streak: 7 (2 November 1975 - 22 October 1978)

Longest Packers Winning Streak: 6 (22 October 1961 - 10 November 1963)

Most Recent Vikings Victory In Green Bay1 November 2009 (Final score 38-26)

Most Recent Packers Victory In Green Bay2 December 2012 (Final score 23-14)

Biggest Vikings Victory In Green Bay: 26 points, 7 December 1986 (Final score 32-6)

Biggest Packers Victory In Green Bay: 38 points, 14 November 2011 (Final score 45-7)

Really, not a lot of the other types of information have changed about this one from the previous post.

There's a look back at the history between these two teams. Hopefully the Vikings can add another, more positive page to the history books this Sunday.
