Better than 2-7, hopefully more wins to come!

First off, what a great win!!! It was really nice seeing a great performance from Kevin Williams AND Christian Ponder.

Ponder probably had one of his best outings of his career. He finished 17-21, where only 3 of passes hit the turf (INT counts as incompletion). He posted a QBR of 95, which goes on a scale of 0-100. A QBR of 50 is considered average and 65 is considered Pro Bowl level. On the season Christian Ponder has a QBR of 58.7, which is ranked 16th in the league. It is higher than Tom Brady's (56.9), Russel Wilson's (55.7), Joe Flacco's (49.5), and the quarterback of the undefeated Chiefs Alex Smith's (46.8).The main reason for this post is that this season, Christian Ponder hasn't been the main problem. Yes, he has turned the ball over far too much, but every game he has played in other than the GB game, we have been in the game in position to win. Now I want you to look at Alex Smith's QB rating again. 46.8. Its below average (ranked 22nd) and his team is 9-0. This proves that its not all on the quarterback. Our defense this year has been pretty much horrific. I could go and buy 11 dogs, put them out on defense and they could do a better job than what we have.

Now, what if Christian Ponder plays like he did last night (besides dumb INT) for the rest of the season, the Vikings finish the season on a good streak, and Ponder finishes top 10 in QBR. Would you still want them to draft a QB within the first couple rounds? Comment your opinions, especially JeffroTheVike or whatever your username is.

NOTE- QBR and Passer Rating is completely different. In case you are wondering, Ponder's passer rating last night was 113.1 and for the season its 77.6. I got all my stats from http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr Click on his name for season stats.
