It's no secret that I've never liked the idea for public money to go to the stadium. However, after reading an article detailing how they will deflate the dome, I have a few ideas to ease the burden of the under performing pull tabs. Sell everything. The State of Minnesota is in a unique position, because the Vikings do not own the Dome nor do they own anything inside. That means, the lockers, roof, seats, etc. can all be sold. I seem to remember something the Bears did one season after they replaced the astroturf in Soldier Field with grass. They cut the turf into little squares and had someone put a logo on it and hand them out somehow. I have found a few of them on Ebay and bought a couple of pieces for family. The State of Minnesota can do something like that. And since the Twins also played there, some of the items might have a bigger market, and therefore higher value...that is value to both baseball and football fans. I don't think that this would pay for the State's complete obligation, but I would expect a significant reduction. Any thoughts?
