Christmas wish list, my weekly mock draft

Happy Holidays everyone and thank you for dropping by and reading my weekly rant. What do we all want for Christmas?, a QB, a division title or a super bowl heck that's what we all want is a SB. Well 1st things 1st we have to build a team to get us to these places. In my week 17 edition I've retooled my Mock a lil and my offseason plan if you read my last article "A look into the crystal ball of the future". We are in position to add a few FA even though we'll probably pay a arm and a leg without further adu lets start this week off. If your a Johnny Manziel or Derek Carr supporter in the Top 10 picks of the draft stop reading now you will be disappointed.

In FA we could have close to 15 to 20 million in Cap room so we will be buyers again looking to bring veteran players in to help lead a young group of player makers

Alterran Verner CB, Ten - Verner has played a outstanding year for the titans and will be rewared handsomely come March. He wont demand the money that Aquib Talib will and will be a instant starter opposite of Rhodes next season

Michael Johnson , DE, Cincinnati- Watching Johnson on tape he is quick out of his stance and can beat tackles around the corner or bull rush and get to the ball carrier or to the QB will be Jared Allens' likely replacement if the price is right.

Now on to the draft although I do think some of these places could be addressed before the draft these are players I would be good players for the team for the spot they are picked

Rd 1. Louis Nix III, DT, Notre Dame- I stayed with NIx in my mock draft for this week. I thought about Henry Melton here and he still is a consideration but the thought of getting Nix here is still too intriguing. Nix is a disruptive force in the middle and can command double teams every time he is on the field. There is enough rotational on the line with either Guion or Evans and Nix would take the majority of the snaps. Paired with Floyd I think this would be a formidable duo of this line for years to come.

Rd 2. Gabe Jackson, G, Miss St- Jackson has had a very good season for the bulldogs and excels in run blocking and zone blocking. With the pass happy offense that Miss St Jackson has good footwork for a big man and has the ability to get to the 2nd level and block LBs or CBs. I think upgrading both Fusco and Johnson is a priority this offseason because our G play is terrible

Rd 3. Anthony Steen, G, Alabama- Steen would be a steal here, the lost man on a Alabama front that has put 3 1st rounders in the draft including Koundjio this season and Fluker, and Warmack last year. has quick feet and is good in pass blocking along with good strength at the point of attack to open running lanes. this continues a OL, DL retool that has shown some regress following a decent 2012

Rd 3. Hakeem Smith, S, Louisville- Smith has had a decent year with 42 tackles and 3 interceptions. He will excel in a cover 2 system and projects out like a Major Wright or Reggie Nelson who Charlie Strong has coached in the past.

Rd 4 Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia- This is the spot to grab Murray, he is a 4 year starter for the bulldogs and has had a stellar career. I think with his knee injury and not being able to be ready before training camp he will benefit from basically a redshirt year in the NFL. If we get a coach like O'Brien who lets give credit to made Matt Mcgloin UNFA and is starting now for a dismal Oakland team

Rd 5. DeAnthony Thomas, RB Oregon, He will be gone at this point in all likelihood. I still like the idea of him as a COP RB and is a playmaker that can score anywhere on the field

Rd 6. BPA

Rd 7. BPA

Happy Holidays everyone
