Via numerous sources on the Twitter, Vikings' head coach Leslie Frazier has announced that star running back Adrian Peterson is doubtful for Sunday's regular season finale, saying that if the team thought he was ready, he would be out there. Frazier also went on to say that the groin pull that Peterson suffered earlier in the season is bothering him more than the foot sprain he suffered a few weeks back.
The outlook is even worse for Peterson's backup, Toby Gerhart, who Frazier has already ruled out of Sunday's game. Sunday will likely be Gerhart's last game for the Vikings, as he's a free agent at the end of the year and is unlikely to return to sit behind Peterson.
That means we're going to, most likely, see a lot of Matt Asiata and Joe Banyard on Sunday. Asiata had a three-touchdown performance as the main ball carrier against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Vikings' last home game, but averaged less than two yards a carry on 30 attempts.
We will have the full injury reports for both teams later on today.
