Hello! Skol Vikings!
Welcome me to your blog! Thanks! As a resident of Canada's capital (Ottawa), football has always come second in the sporting world to hockey. As such, when ever I heard people talking about football, I usually brushed it off, and found someone else to talk to. Well, my football fandom has begun.
Last weekend, my wife bought me a new 72' T.V. for my basement. A television for my "man cave". Sitting around Sunday, I decided to skip the afternoon church service and wait for the 5:30pm start of the Ottawa Senators as the played the Detroit Redwings, in what was the return of the most prolific Senator in their 20+ year history. As I had about 4 hours before the start of that game, I decided to turn on a football game. It was Sunday afternoon, so there were plenty of choices, but I settled on the Vikings/Bears. Unsure of who to pick to cheer for, I decided the Vikings were going to be the team. Just for that one game. I loved it. The game was exciting as all else, with the last 5 minutes, the missed FG for both teams and the win in OT. I'm officially a Vikings fan.
It's a bit of a jump for me, having no idea of the rules of football. I've been reading this blog and trying to pick up on the terms you guys are using. I know it's going to be a while before I'm up to speed on the terminology and the rules of the game, but I'm here!
Fill me in on what's happened over the last 52 years! What should I know about the Vikings! What's your favourite moment, and maybe provide a link to a vid.
