Offseason Plan

Hey everyone, I don't really post on these blogs, but I read them daily. And I've been a die-hard vikings fan (haven't missed a game) since I was 8. And with not Football, no Baseball, boycotting hockey & the NBA, all I'm watching is soccer, and though I'm a complete Sports Geek, the lack of news is killing me. So I thought I would put my thoughts out there and see if I could pick up on what everyone, thought or even if its feasible.

If I'm not very much mistaken we have roughly 12.5 million in Cap room, and the draft coming up. Now my analysis of our needs (Not necessarily in this order) is:

WR, MLB, G, S, OLB, CB, DT, Back-up QB.

So first I'd like to say that the free agent market is extremely deep on WR. And my ideal signings would be Dwayne Bowe (or Mike Wallace if we have to settle), because though Jarius Wright caught a few deep balls, he is too small physically to be a legitimate deep threat and it is no secret we need a No. 1 WR.

I would also like David Garrard, because though he isn't great, he is a veteran and he is a NFL caliber quarterback if Ponder goes down. (I'm really not too picky about this one)

Then on to the draft. I would really like to draft a long term solution at MLB, I think it would make a world of difference for our defense. Then I would like to draft a Safety to play along side Smith, because he has shown how much difference good safety play can make. And the last time we had two decent starting safeties was with Darren Sharper and Corey Chavous. Then I would like a Guard, who you can get later in the draft, a DT, that we need but not immediately and can afford to train into a starter, and so on. P.S. I would also love for us to pick up Tyrann Mathieu. Because though he's a liability in many ways, I watched him in college, and he just makes plays. He has a serious talent for getting the ball.

So, what do you guys think? and who would you want in the free agency/draft?
