Not Just Any Mock.

This is my first time doing an fan post so let me know what you think. I'm not much into writing but i thought i would give it a shot. With the Vikings coming off such a successful season last year it will be crucial to have another solid draft to add to the core of young talent.

Round 1 #23- Desmond Trufant - With this being such a deep draft at the DT position i think that that position can wait until a later pick and still get a solid player. Soo with the first of the 2 first rounders the vikes should take Trufant out of Washington. He not only is solid DB and would fit tremendously into our system, but he has strong blood lines as his brother is also a solid DB. Even if Antoine decides to come back to the Vikings Trufant would be a Huge addition to our secondary. With Trufant, Cook, Robinson, and potentially Winfield in the nickel the defensive backfield could become a strength of the vikings instead of its biggest weakness.

Round 1 #25- Arthur Brown - I think shoring up the MLB position is one of the most important on defense and with there being so few top tier middle linebackers it is a must to address it early on. Brown is a stud MLB and is rising up draft boards so if the vikings want him they will have to take him in the first round. He has questions about size but he is tremendous moving laterally and seems to always be around the ball making plays.

Round 2 - DeAndre Hopkins - With this pick I think the Vikings will get around to addressing the WR position. Every year it seems that multiple skill position players get mocked high up draft boards but then come draft day teams elect for the safer bet. I believe this will once again happen to the joy of the Vikings FO. Hopkins has been mocked in the late first due to his great hands and ability to go get the ball along with quality speed. This is the type of receiver that a run first team needs; a receiver who will help out Ponder and more importantly open up the field for MVPeterson.

Round 3 - Brandon Williams - Finally the vikings get around to addressing the DT position. He won't be a really high pick because he went to a small school but that doesn't mean he can't play. He is one of the better pass rushing DT's and is solid against the run. He will have the ability to recreate the williams wall and eventually take over for KWill.

Round 4 - Bacarri Rambo - Besides having a great name he could add talent to our safety position. He did have a failed drug test which may be the reason he falls to the mid rounds in this draft, but he is a talented player. He would push Sanford for the starting position next to Harrison Smith.

Round 4 - Aaron Dobson - He comes from Marshall which one gave the vikings a pretty good receiver. Although he won't be Randy Moss he does has big play ability and would add to WR corps. He made an amazing grab last year in college (youtube it) and would be a quality guy to add depth to the Vikings depleted group of receivers.

Round 5 - J.C Tretter - In the mid rounds I expect the Vikings to pick a guard to add depth and groom to be an improvement on the OL. Guard was the weakness on the Vikings OL and although continuity is stressed by the coaches and FO if Fusco doesn't improve Tretter could step up and take his place. Also as shown in the past Spielman like to take O-lineman later in the draft when he picked Sullivan, Fusco, and Love.

Round 6- Joe Kruger - With the potential for departures at DE next year a late round pick on a DE wouldn't be the worst idea. Kruger would add depth and as history shows in Griffin and Robison mid-late round DE's can pay off.

Round 7- Chad Bumphis - It never hurts to have to many WR and it could be just about anybody with 7 round picks. With the departure of Harvin, Bumphis would be able to compete for Kick returner as he was a quality return man in his years at Mississippi State.

Round 7 - Brad Wing - With Kluwe having offseason surgery and his vocal habits the Vikings maybe looking to move on. Wing was the arguably the best punter in college football before being kicked off LSU for violating team rules. As shown with the pick of Walsh last year the FO may pick a punter for the future.
