With the draft coming up in roughly a month, it is obvious that most of our attention will be focused on who would look good in Purple and Yellow. Add in the dynamic that the Vikings are owners of two 1st rounders and 11 picks overall, there is a lot to be excited about. But I want to take a look at the upcoming season and determine what kind of team we will be.
The Vikes are coming off an impressive 10-6 season in which Purple Jesus lead his chosen Vikings to a one and done playoff game that left a sour taste in most of the fans mouths. The season had highs and lows, such as a rookies stepping up, Harvin's drama, AP being unreal, a new faced defense, and Ponder's roller coaster play. I personally believe we can win the North, but we will have to really improve and work to prove that we belong on top.
A quick look to last season. We went 7-1 at Home this season and 3-5 on the Road. Even a few of the games we lost (Indianapolis, Green Bay, and Seattle), were well in the realm of victory. Anyway, here is the breakdown of the 2013-2014 Vikings NFL season. (I am not going to predict a record, but I would like to hear from you all! Poll to follow)
Pittsburgh (In England)
My first impression is...well probably not what a confident fan would like to admit. It seems like our home games are reasonable, but the road games do not look to be an easy stretch. While less than half of the teams we'll play on the road did not make the playoffs last year, they have each seen some major upgrades to their teams.
Hopefully the Vikings can match them step for step and have another fantastic year. I would like to go into the season as underdogs again because we usually play better that way, but only time will tell at this point.
