The Wallace Chase and the state income tax

Just read on PFT that Moore re-signed with the Fins for $8 million over two years. In the article it also mentioned that FL does not have a state income tax. A quick Google search confirmed this factoid.

In MN single taxpayers must pay 7.85 percent on taxable income of $79,731 and above. I haven't read about this discrepancy anywhere else, but most certainly this is something that Wallace will be considering. We'd effectively have to pay him 8 percent more for him to take home the same payload.

Of course, because of its tax system, the state of MN can also boast better public education, better unemployment protections, and better health coverage for low income people. But, none of these is likely to matter much to Mike Wallace.
