I get that the Vikings are all about getting younger and building through the draft, but do we really want another season like 09-10? The season that, then starting middle linebacker, E.J. Henderson was lost for the year and 5th-round draft pick, and then rookie, Jasper Brinkley had to step in to very mixed results? I know a lot of us got excited about 7th-rounder Audie Cole in the preseason last year, but let's ground ourselves; preseason. Say it one more time, preseason.
Now, not to doubt the genius of the great wizard Spielman, but I think he's out of cards to play in this draft. At least in regards to finding a surefire starter from day 1. (I'm sure someone will care to argue this point)
So here's what's swimming in the free agency pool (It's mighty shallow) and the number of seasons they've played:
Brian Urlacher 13 seasons
Karlos Dansby 9 seasons
Omar Gaither 7 seasons
Demorrio Williams 9 seasons
Barrett Rudd 8 Seasons
Obviously this isn't the comprehensive list (that list is even more depressing), but do any of these guys sound enticing to come in to compete for the starting spot? Or is there someone not on this list you'd like to see get signed?
