I know there is still a lot of people that are still frustrated bout the trade up to acquire Patterson, but I think once everyone sees how well he does, they will be happy we did. What are the worse case scenarios? He flops and we still have eight other prospects, 2 of which are also 1st rounders, that should have a big impact. Rhodes might end up being our best corner and Floyd might end up being our best defensive tackle. Also, I'm not so sure they want another Pat Williams; I think the want what they have; Williams & Floyd in the middle playing and starting together. So, what's the best case scenario? Patterson becomes our best receiver & Rhodes & Floyd become the players at their respective positions, and if you wanna talk about long shot. What if that comes to be later in the season this year.
I honestly thought the 4 best WRs were Hopkins, Hunter, Allen and Rogers. I still think they will all have good careers. I didn't consider Patterson because I thought he would come off the board several picks before the 23rd. I also felt the same about Rhodes and Floyd. So, pre draft, I was hoping for something like Richardson, Trufant, Hunter and maybe Rogers later. Everyone thought that was too far fetched, but to say we were going to acquire the three we did in the 1st; well that would have sounded like the most outlandish of all optimistic mock drafts.
So, who will be the best of the three 1st round picks Minnesota acquired, and which one will be the first to start having an impact. I think it will be Floyd having the biggest impact at first and Patterson having the biggest career of the three. What do you guys think? And outside of the 1st round which other selection will have the biggest impact?
