Looking for reinforcement

There has been speculation of os lately that Danny Watkins, the 23rd overall selection in the 2011 draft would be cut by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles recently select Lane Johnson as their 1st selection in the 2013 draft, at 4th overall. He will be expected to start at right tackle and Watkins will have to compete with Evan Mathis and Todd Hermans for snap on the interior positions. However Danny Watkins carries to heafty a tag to just be considered a backup so the Eagles might choose to realease him instead of having him as a backup.

Vikings are currently sitting at 23rd at the waiving order, however it's not that likely that any team at all will pick up his salary and he might just make it through waivers. Eagles could try to trade him prior to this, but I still doubt any team, with the knowledge that he might be realease is willing to give up anything to obtain Danny Watkins.

Vikings could perhaps make use of Danny Watkins since gaurd isn't exactly a position of strength. The question becomes: Is he better than Charlie Johnson or Brandon Fusco who are currently taking the top spots? - Also how much are the vikings willing to give in order to get Danny Watkins? - make a claim on him or offer him a lot 1 year contract with no gurantees if he makes it through waivers?

What do you guys think, should vikings take a look at Danny Watkins should he be realesed?
