It seems like eons ago that the Vikings caught a young talented WR falling in the draft and snatched him up with hopes of a landing a pro bowl caliber wide out. That was 1998 and pick number 21. We also got Percy Harvin in a similar fashion in 2009 with pick 22, but the difference was we were lacking that All Pro mentor to help him assimilate into the NFL.
By the sounds of his interviews, Greg Jennings wants not just to contribute on the field for our Vikings this year, but also as a team leader. His professional approach and play on the field will go far in developing not only Patterson, but also the rest of our young receiver corps.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I would rather have Greg Jennings mentoring our young wide outs than Bernard Berrian.
