The "Ponder Project" is heading into its 3rd year and we have seen flashes of excellent quarterback play and some not so good. This leaves us at a serious crossroad, do we try and continue to develop or do we look at adding a top QB in the 2014 draft or hope Cassel will step up.
Matt Cassel was brought in for some insurance because as we found out Joe Webb is not NFL QB material, this brings in some big questions. Is there a QB competition going on even though all of the staff is saying no? Even through the terrible run Ponder was producing last year, the coaching staff still stuck with Ponder, because of Webb, but how far will that go this year if he falters?
The clock is ticking and the timeline for QBs is short, with that if Ponder struggles and Cassel is a decent fill in how long do we keep Cassel in and Ponder holding the clip board? Now comes the draft do we look at David Fales, Aaron Murry or A.J. McCarron as another project to try and fast track.
So much is riding on this season for the Vikings offense, the result will interesting, where will we go in the different circumstances. Stay tuned to your local Dailey Norseman network for urgent updates, this is bleedpurple60 reporting, back to you guys in the studio.
