Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 6/28

USA TODAY Sports

We are just four short weeks from the Minnesota Vikings reporting to Training Camp for the 2013 season, ladies and gentlemen. Hopefully the time will continue to rapidly move by and we can start getting back into the business of actually, honest-to-God football.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Apparently a linebacker from the Detroit Lions thought that Adrian Peterson might have been "juicing" last season.

-One of our posters, wludford, takes a look at the team's corps of receiving targets.

-Fran Tarkenton and Zygi Wilf both advanced to the second round of our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament.

-And we gave you two more match-ups to vote on in that tournament, with Paul Krause taking on Jerry Burns and the Battle of the Steves between Steve Hutchinson and Steve Jordan.

From some other outposts around the internet. . .

-The 2010 Minnesota Vikings are one of ESPN's "Most Compelling Teams." Actually kind of hard to disagree with that.

-What was your favorite moment of the Stanford Keglar era?

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been, folks. . .no politics, no religion, keep the bad language to a minimum, and don't feed the trolls.

Here is your ambient music for today.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for a Friday. We'll have two more tournament match-ups coming your way here shortly, and hopefully some more good stuff for you throughout the day!
