If Ponder were to fail, what would happen next?

I have recently shown a lot of support for QB Christian Ponder over the last couple weeks. So I am going to look at the other side of the story, what if Ponder doesn't have the breakout season like he is supposed to? Well, obviously if Ponder REALLY stinks it up Leslie Frazier will have his butt benched by week 6 and Matt Cassel would be under center. I doubt the Vikings Organization would see Cassel as a good long-term solution so my assumption is that they would look towards the 2014 NFL Draft to find their next franchise QB. Down below I have listed 3 possible guys they would draft in this situation.

#1 BEST OPTION: Teddy Bridgewater, QB Louisville

Height: 6'3''

Weight: 218 lb

I think Bridgewater has the potential to be a good NFL QB. He is expected to go in the top 5 but we could always trade up and get him. Or at the end of the season we could end up with a top 5 pick...

#2 BEST OPTION: David Fales, QB San Jose State

Height: 6'3''

Weight: 220 lb

Who?!?! Exactly! Fales has a good arm and good accuracy. I think this guy is really under-the-radar.

#3 BEST OPTION: Johnny Manziel, QB Texas A&M

Height: 6'0''

Weight: 200 lb

The guy every Vikings fan wants.

Except for me.

Johnny Football may be electric and fun to watch as he scrambles around the defense, but I don't think he would be a very efficient NFL QB. He never stands in the pocket and delivers a pass. He HAS to scramble, even behind the great o-line Texas A&M has. And, no, we are not talking about Fran Tarkenton-type scrambling. We're talking about Tim Tebow-type scrambling.

So, in conclusion, these 3 QB's would be guys the Vikings would look at in the 2014 NFL draft IF Christian Ponder were to flop this season. Please tell me what you think in the comments below!
