This is the first DN member that has crossed the 20,000 post mark this morning July 26 . For some it would be viewed as a colossal waste of time. For other people is a place to meet others with common interests. It takes a long time to put up 1,000 posts let alone getting to the 20K mark.
Filbert, Skoltroll, and Viking1 (and others) are daily posters on the thread and will hit big numbers one day if they stay with it. I'm not sure there is a number that makes a blogger legitimate but the 10,000 post mark (Arif rolled by it this week) would always get my attention. Bud Elliot who I met on this blog during the draft once we drafted Mr. Rhodes is closing in on 50k over at FSU's site. I have no ideal what SB Nation has in store for the numbers but once you get up in your posts, you sure don't want to give them up (a purple star at 50K, a t-shirt at 100K?)
It is refreshing to have all the new posters coming on board. Some stay active others don't. I think it is pretty cool to have our first member hit the 20K mark. I asked him to put that post on this thread. He would have just kept posting without fanfare but I'm thinking it would be neat to mark that post. At the end of the day it is just a number. A place where Viking Fans can come and interact with other fans.
Congratulations on hitting the 20,000 mark Grime! I wanted it to be the first post but you can see what happened. So now number 20,000 is nestled a ways down in a fan post thread and it couldn't be any more perfect than that. Got some people sharing their story/view point and that is what is all about.
