As many of us have heard, Percy Havin will be having hip surgery and will miss half the season, if not more. The Seahawks became a major Super Bowl contender once they acquired Harvin from the Vikes. I know the Seahawks were a very good team before they got Harvin, but I believe this is really going to hurt them. The main reason they even made the playoffs was because they got on a huge run the 2nd half of the season. I don't think that momentum will carry over to this season. Russell Wilson can be bound to have the "sophomore slump." This can really open the door for other teams in the NFC, including the Vikes.
Many experts are saying the Vikings will miss the playoffs this season (I totally disagree). If Seattle is slow out of the gate, it will narrow the playoff chase. Teams that are likely to make the playoffs include the 49ers, Falcons, and unfortunately the Fudge Packers (unless the vikes win div, which is very possible). After that, you have the winner of the NFC East and 2 wild card spots. In my opinion, the Saints will bounce back and be in the playoff race. You also have another team from the NFC East that doesn't win the division, the bears, and the vikings battling for 2 spots. This Harvin trade really has the possibility to shake up the NFC.
