Which College Players Are Future Vikings Week 2 Review and Week 3 Primer

Joe Robbins

Week 2 is in the books. There were some upsets in the top 25 and the usual blowouts thanks to the crappy scheduling by many teams. Why team have to schedule cupcakes is very disappointing. I understand the reasoning but it still is not good for college football fans. I mean Texas A&M played Sam Houston State and Clemson played South Carolina State. Imagine if Clemson played Texas A&M? Oklahoma State played the University of Texas at San Antonio (who?) and Louisville played Eastern Kentucky. It would have been nice to see Louisville play Oklahoma State. Nebraska played Southern Miss and TCU played Southeastern Louisiana. Imagine if nebraska played TCU? Wisconsin played Tennessee Tech and Baylor played Buffalo. Imagin if Wisconsin played Baylor? I do not know why teams need to schedule the games so far in advance and I wish they could schedule no more than 2 years in advance. Having a legitimate playoff system would also allow teams to play better teams as well. Maybe. Oh well, I can dream no?

Anyway, the upsets were Miami over Florida, BYU over Texas, and I guess Washington State over my sorrified USC Trojans.  The other "upsets" (If you want to call it that) were Georgia over South Carolina and Michigan over Notre Dame.

The game of the week award goes to Georgia vs South Carolina!

The New Mexico vs UTEP game was also a thriller and finished a close second although choosing the other game shows a bias towards the top 25.
