Seahawks are the Super Bowl champions! I am so happy, just a couple years ago living in California and being a Seahawks fan meant mercilessly getting flak from all the 9er band wagoners with comments like "Why are you even Seahawks fan, they're crap" and called a "retard" by one friend for saying Russel Wilson was going to be great, when he struggled in the beginning of his rookie season. Finally I can rub it in their faces..
Ignoring my personal happiness, I'll get to the point. What happens to a team after a Super Bowl win? A lot of cap casualties. So Seahawk shopping season will be upon us. Ian Rapoport reported that the Seahawks will infact re-sign Michael Bennett, their top priority is to re-sign Earl Thomas and believe it or not restructuring Richard Shermans contract is not. It's unlikely they don't figure something out before 2015 though.
Remember last offseason when The Ravens won and they lost so many key defenders, well now the Seahawks may have to deal with the same thing. Heres a few other free agents:
Also heres a list of possible cap casualties:p>-Sidney Rice
So theres a good chance a number of these guys end up in a Seahawk jersey next year but garunteed a good grip of those guys hit the market. So better for us. If Seattle didn't win they wouldn't have to let so many good defensive players go which is what we need. Also imagine how much more money Eric Decker would be asking for if he had a killer game helping the Broncos win. Theres always the possibility Minnesota doesn't pick up any players from both teams but I believe Seattle winning gives us more options, so cheers.
