So I have been poking around on several different sites on the Internet, because I am damn bored right now, and I have seen more and more teams come out and say they are open to trading out of their pick. Of course it is a little early in the offseason to put smoke to fire, but I (personally) have seen a larger than usual number of teams coming out with (possibly untrue) claims that they are looking into trading down.
Here are the teams that I can find that have stated they are open to trading down:
The Falcons (moreso an article about trading up, but trading down is mentioned)
The Vikings have been mentioned/discussed here on the Daily Norseman and on other sites as possibly being willing to trade up or down (plus it fits Speilman's MO to do both)
This means that out of the top 8 picks this draft, at least five have publicly expressed interest in trading out of their slot.
Now, here's where the Vikings come in. If the Vikings do want to trade up in the first round, it would seem as though they would have several interested parties. And I think that this is where Speilman can work his magic. Though personally I would really prefer to trade down, it would seem that with a market full of teams not entirely sold on their draft position Darth Speilman could use his Sith tricks to spin a profitable deal for the Vikings and move up to grab the player they want.
Again, I would prefer the Vikings to trade down. I just thought I would put it out there that there would seem to be a market to bid Madden-style for the best possible picks to trade up into.
