If Zimmer keeps the defense to a 4-3 with his scheme implementation, then my decisions as playing the GM would change. Here it is:

In a base 4-3 defense, I chose to draft CJ Mosley instead. In this case, Vikings may move a couple picks back to gain more draft picks and still draft CJ Mosley. In a base 4-3 defense, Vikings defensive need is at DE, NT, OLB, CB, and SS. Justin Gilbert, Kony Ealy, and Louis Nix are most likely reaches at the number eight pick. If Vikings move a couple draft picks back to acquire more draft picks, they may use those additional picks to move back in the late first round. In a base 4-3 defense, I don't see Vikings resigning Jared Allen if they hope to resign Everson Griffen. Everson knows he can play and deserves a bit more money and longer contract. Everson will not resign with the Viking just to sit on a poor team's bench. We have more holes to fill in a 4-3 defense as oppose to 3-4. I personally believe we have the players and can acquire some from free agency and draft to fit the 3-4 scheme, but I am not the expert compared to Mike Zimmer and George Edwards. I do believe we should sign Jones-Drew because he can do everything better than Gerhart, specifically pass block, quickness, and can affect the passing game more. Signing Jones-Drew releases the attention off of AP and leaves the opponent game planning more for both running backs, not just one. Jones-Drew can change direction quicker than Gerhart. Jones-Drew is more difficult to cover in the passing game, and from a linebacker's viewpoint, harder to see coming in the gap. George Edwards has ties to the Dolphins, Bills, Cowboys, Redskins, and Florida Gators. Mike Zimmer has ties to the Bengals, Falcons, Cowboys, and University of Missouri. Any ties Zimmer and Edwards has to any free agents or draft entrees' teams is a factor in free agency and the draft. Mention a free agency players or draft entrees you recommend Vikings should get, especially with the ties Edwards and Zimmer has. As far as to why I don't have any 2nd string defensive ends, I am puzzled as who to add quality in that position.
